The Ark of the Covenant

The Temple housed many important items, yet that the most important item was the Ark of the Covenant. The Ark was kept in the inner most room in the Temple, the Holy of Holies.  The Holy of Holies was considered to be so sacred that only the high priests were allowed access and even their access was extremely restricted.

King David did not build the Temple. However, he did make preparations which allowed his son, King Solomon, to build the Temple in seven and a half years. Prior to the Temple's completion, the Ark of the Covenant was housed in a tent which traveled with the brethren.

As we strive to create an exact replica of King Solomon's Temple, we are also creating an exact replica of the Ark of the Covenant to be placed in the Temple once construction is complete.  There are detailed descriptions for the Ark in the scrolls, however, there is no detailed description of all the markings that cover the Ark.  This replica of the Ark will be created to the most accurate description our research team and scholars can find.

Following the ground breaking ceremony, the Ark will be delivered to a local Blue Lodge and presented to the Worshipful Master.  The Worshipful Master is charged to care for the Ark and to present it to the Worshipful Master of the next lodge nearest to his lodge.  This will continue from Lodge to Lodge, Worshipful Master to Worshipful Master until the Temple construction is complete at which time the Ark will be returned so it may take it's place in the Temple.

It is our goal that the Ark visit as many lodges as possible over the seven years while the Temple is being constructed so the amount of time each lodge will be allowed to have the Ark is limited.  As the Ark travels across North America, it will also be displaying the unity of our brotherhood.

There will be a map showing all the lodges that are scheduled to receive the Ark.  If your lodge is already scheduled, please make sure all brothers of your lodge are made aware of the date so they may be in attendance when the Ark is received by your Worshipful Master.

If your lodge is not already on the schedule, please make sure your lodge is scheduled as soon as possible so we can plan the route the Ark will take.  If the Ark has already passed through your state then it may not be possible for your Worshipful Master to receive the Ark on behalf of your lodge due to scheduling.
